Leonardo Da Vinci - Large Format Fine Art Prints and Reproductions

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci (April 15, 1452 – May 2, 1519) was an Italian Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, geologist, cartographer, botanist, and writer. His genius, perhaps more than that of any other figure, epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal. Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man, a man of "unquenchable curiosity" and "feverishly inventive imagination".

By the pictorial technique, the careful reproduction of nature and composition, this portrait is inspired by the old Flemish masters. The Lady with the Ermine

The portrait of Cecilia Gallerani, the favorite of Ludovico Sforza, goes far beyond the conventions in force in Milan with regard to portraits. The ermine was then the symbol of purity and virtue, but it also alludes to Ludovico Sforza, the lover of Cecilia. 1496, Czartoryski Museum, Cracow, Poland

The Litta Madonna

€37.00
The attribution to Leonardo of this small painting, representing Mary and the Child Jesus, remains controversial. The rigorous contours of the two characters and the background, the atmosphere of which is not spectacular compared with other works, suggest that the master may have instructed a pupil here to execute or to complete the painting. 1490,...

The Virgin and Child with St. Anne

€37.00
Leonardo develops in this painting a sequence of personages relating to each other, as if Anne and Mary had the same body, represented in the different stages of a movement. This impression of physical unity, of which the figure of the Child Jesus even seems to be an extension, is confirmed by the odd feeling that the two women are the same age. Musée du...
