Giovanni Bellini said Giambellino (born in Venice between 1425 and 1433 - Venice, November 29, 1516) was an Italian Renaissance painter, considered the precursor of the Venetian school, whose work marks the final break with the Gothic by its commitment to the geometric rigor, through paintings that blur the difference between the sacred world and profane. The son of Iacopo Bellini (1400-1470), Giovanni Bellini embodies an extraordinary talent with the spirit of the Italian Renaissance, but still in a manner appropriate to the traditions and tastes of the local environment.
