Nicolaes Maes, born in Dordrecht in 1634 and died in Amsterdam March 24, 1693, is a Dutch painter. Between 1648 and 1653, he was the pupil of Rembrandt in Amsterdam from whom he kept a significant influence, especially with the chiaroscuro.
