Luca Forte

Luca Forte - Large Format Fine Art Prints and Reproductions

Luca Forte (c. 1615–c. 1670) was an Italian painter of the Baroque period, active mainly as a still-life painter in Naples.

Modern scholars credit Forte as the first painter to compose still-lifes with landscape backgrounds, replacing the plain, dark grounds typical of the early 1600s in Italy. His use of light, shade and color to accurately render objects such as grapes and pomegranates has also received considerable praise.
